About
My name is Mike Riehl and I am an animation and visual effects student at Drexel University. I have studied animation for the better part of 10 years. I grew up in the West Windsor/Plainsboro school district of New Jersey. Though I transferred to a teeny tiny private high school named New Hope Academy in 9th grade. I excelled during high school and had a reputation for being a part of as many clubs as my schedule would allow. Captain of the chess team, editor of the school newspaper, and the only member of my school’s 3D animation club. My new high school was very fortunate to have access to a 3D modeling software and a knowledgeable teacher. This is where my love of 3D animation truly began, and I am very thankful for the fundamentals that were instilled in me during my time at New Hope Academy. I eventually graduated from New Hope Academy as Valedictorian. Having that baseline 3D modeling knowledge has proved invaluable, as it allowed me to branch out very quickly once I came to Drexel. The breadth of classes that I have taken at Drexel have given me many new tools. The skills that I have acquired include hard surface modeling, character design, rigging, Architectural modeling, and 3D printing. The different internships that I took at Drexel gave me a wealth of experiences, from professional video shoots to active construction sites. I am always looking for new opportunities to expand my horizons and take on bigger challenges. I hope to work with you soon 🙂
